Logging in

First, sign into the website using the student's username and password

Student usernames are "firstnamelastname348"

ex. johnsmith348

Passwords are all "bases" but all passwords can be changed in "profile settings"

Learning

Under the "learning" tab, students have access to multiple skill building questions for both MATH and ENGLISH.

There are multiple skills to pick from, ex. "counting and number patterns," and each is broken into smaller skills to build understanding, ex. "A.1 Counting Review up to 10"

Levels

In either MATH or ENGLISH you can do work on skills from any grade level, K - 12.

This can be selected with the tabs on the left

You don't have to stick to one grade level!

Analytics

The "analytics" tab will show you information on: usage, trouble spots, questions, and progress.

Use this to see how your student is progressing, what skills they have mastered, and what they may need to work on!

K-12

When students start a skill, there SmartScore is 0, increasing and decreasing as students get answers right or incorrect.

SmartScores are not a percentage! They are calculated based on:

  • The number of questions completed

  • Consistency in answers

  • The difficulty level of the question

Building up to a score of 100 means the skill is considered "mastered" and a gold medal will appear next to the skill in the analytics section

What is a SmartScore?

ADVICE
  • You don't need to do all the skills in a grade - prioritize

  • Bounce between grades and skills based on your child's strengths and needs

  • Help at the start, but let them try and their own and get things wrong

  • Push them to challenge themsel
